CKS Benelux, the Belgian branch of the European consulting firm CKS, dedicated to the Purchasing function, has chosen in 2020 to commit itself alongside the Belgian Association of Purchasing and Logistics Managers (www.abcal.org) and Liege Airport in the creation of the SCAL Club.
This club brings together all French-speaking bachelor and master students as well as young professionals involved in Supply Chain, Purchasing and Logistics disciplines. Ten schools participated in the project: EPHEC, HEC Liège, HECH Charlemagne, HEFF Haute École Francisco Ferrer, HELHA Haute École Louvain en Hainaut, HEPL Haute École de la Province de Liège and UCL Louvain.
The consultants of CKS Benelux were able to present their work and the implementation of innovative purchasing methods to the 150 students connected to a webinar organized on November 26th on the topic of "Containerized Economy".
A first focus was made on the interest of a detailed breakdown of the costs of air, rail, road, river, and sea transport flows. It is indeed this analysis that allows us to understand the levers that a buyer can use when challenging transport providers.
A second phase was reserved for negotiations conducted through electronic reverse auctions. The CKS Benelux team organizes several hundred auctions per year, for more than fifteen clients whose operations and suppliers are located all over the five continents. They shared their feedback.
